What is the Developmental Team?
Our non-competitive developmental team is for surfers without any competition experience, looking to build confidence, skills, and community. Choose to practice once or twice per week; open to grades 4-8. Click Here to learn more!
Who is the Competitive Surf Team for?
The team is designed for intermediate to advanced surfers in grades 6–8 who are ready to compete at the Scholastic Surf Series and improve their performance in the water
When is the season?
The season runs August 2025 – March 2026, with weekly practices and competitions throughout Southern California.
Where are practices held?
Practices for the take place at Avalanche in Ocean Beach, San Diego.
What competitions will we participate in?
The competitive team competes in the Scholastic Surf Series (SSS), with events hosted up and down the Southern California coast.
What’s the commitment?
- Weekly practice sessions
- Weekend competitions during the season
- Attendance and participation are expected to help the team succeed
What if my surfer can’t make every competition?
While full participation is encouraged, we understand conflicts may arise. Please communicate with coaches in advance regarding any absences.
How do I sign up?
Registration is open online through our site. Spots are limited, so early sign-up is encouraged. Click Here to register!
Do parents need to attend competitions?
Yes—parents are responsible for transportation and supervision at events. Coaches will handle training and heats.
